Hopefully you'll find answers to some of your questions here.

A: You don't have to audition to sing in the choir. There are auditions each term for those who would like to sing solos with the choir but these are optional!

Q: Do I have to be able to read music notation?
A: No. Learning is done from hearing the line sung and repeating it back. Lyrics sheets are available for practising at home!

Q: Does the choir do gigs?

A: Yes. The choir has performed at The Forum and the American Museum in Bath, Westonbirt Arboretum,and Frome Festival. We're always looking for performance opportunities and are happy to travel further afield.

Q: Do I get to wear a robe?

A: Unfortunately no! The choir wear BCGC t-shirts most of the time at concerts. These are available to borrow for each event. Less formal performances may have a different dress code.

Q: Is it a religious choir?

A: No. BCGC is a community choir that sings gospel music. Some of our concerts take place in churches but many do not. Any requests for the choir to sing in church services are offered to the choir on an optional basis.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Membership fees for each term are:-

£30 / £22 concessions (correct until 31-03-11)
A term consists of approximately ten sessions.

Q: Does your rehearsal venue have disability access?
A: Yes. The Forum has level access through the reception area, lift access to the first floor and a disabled toilet. Unfortunately, as we often perform in churches we cannot guarantee that all concert venues will have full access but we will try our best to accommodate access needs as far as possible. Please make any access requirements known to the Director when you join the choir.
